February Newsletter |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Comments from Dan |
| Welcome to
another edition of the Ventriloquist Central Newsletter. Can
you believe that February is already here? Time sure flies.
If you’re a regular reader of the
Ventriloquist Central blog, then you know that we made a change and
now it has a “New Look”. Instead of me writing about why we decided
to do this, I thought I would ask Steve, my partner and webmaster to
explain.
So, Steve….take it away….
Thanks Dan, yes
we have made changes to the Ventriloquist Central blog and
more changes will be coming in the weeks and months to the
Ventriloquist Central website.
Now right off the bat I don’t want anyone to panic. I know how
we as humans tend to like things the way they are and can be
resistant to change. But there are good reasons for these
changes.
First and foremost, the Ventriloquist Central website has
grown by leaps and bounds. Far more than Dan or I had ever
imagined. In fact the visitors to our site have grown at a
rate of 5 times more over last year than the previous year.
THANKS to each and every one of YOU for making this happen.
Plus, we keep providing as much information as we can that we
think you would enjoy seeing. Between all the information and
the major influx of visitors, Ventriloquist Central is busting
at the seams.
Now I don’t want to get too technical but the technology that
the site was built on in the beginning is now outdated and
needs to be updated (badly!!!). That is the major reason for
the changes. Otherwise, I don’t think the present website will
be able to keep handling the growth that Ventriloquist Central
is experiencing.
But along the way there may be a few bumps in the road
(Murphy’s Law)….so at anytime if you experience problems with
the website, please email me so I can take care of the
situation.By the way,
even though you can get to the new blog using the old website
address, it won't be that way forever. So be sure to
change any bookmarks or links to the new address which is:
http://www.ventriloquistcentralblog.com
On the bright side, these changes will allow us to offer more
types of information to you dealing with our wonderful art of
ventriloquism as we progress to the future. And, we also want
YOU to keep sending in YOUR information so that we can share
it with the readers of Ventriloquist Central.
We are confident that in the long run, you’ll love the new
changes coming.
Dan....back to you... |
Thanks, Steve for the explanation. Couldn’t have said it better
myself.
Enjoy the rest of the newsletter.

“The ULTIMATE Guide To
Building Your Own Ventriloquist Figure, Volume 1”
“The ULTIMATE
Guide To Building Your Own Ventriloquist Figure, Volume 1” is a
step-by-step system from start to finish, so you can create your
very own ventriloquist figure. Now you can become a
ventriloquist figure builder. This guide will answers all your
questions, show you all the short-cuts, and give you a quick and
easy paint-by-the-numbers way to making your own ventriloquist
figure-- even if you don’t think you can do it.
"Hi Steve,
I purchased the “The ULTIMATE Guide To Building Your Own
Ventriloquist Figure, Volume 1”, from you last year and
have finished my dummy now.
It has not taken that long to do but I have only been
able to do little bits to it here and there so thats
where the months have gone.
I would love to take this opportunity to thank you for
putting this course together. Building a dummy has been
a long term ambition of mine right from child hood when
I used to make cardboard dummies.
Now all I need to finish the one I have made from your
course is to clothe him. As soon as I have clothes for
him I will send some photos for you to see.
Any way thanks again and look forward to hearing from
you in the future."

Shane West

"Steve, I purchased
your Ultimate Guide To Building Your Own
Ventriloquist Figure Vol.1 DVD's just over five
months ago. Let me first say, these are a MUST HAVE! I
have always wanted to build my own figure and your DVD's
gave me the confidence to get started as well as
valuable information with the whole process! I took your
advice on using the Fast Mache' method and it works!
That advice in itself saved me a lot of frustration
since this was my first time at figure making. I now
know I can begin my second figure and it will be even
more exciting than the first one. The information in the
Ultimate Guide DVD's are invaluable! I enjoy watching
them over and over again to gain more insight on figure
building. I can't wait to get into the mold making
process and duplicate one of my own figure heads! The
Ultimate Guide DVD's were exactly what I was looking for
and needed! Thanks so much for creating them. You truly
are an inspiration to me with all the nuts and bolts of
information you share in order to produce a
ventriloquist figure."
Thanks Again!

Miniature Sailor Ventriloquist Figure from the 1950's
When I saw this little fellow I knew I
had to buy him.

JC Turner Ventriloquist Figure 1940′s
JC Turner was the figure that was used
by almost every ventriloquist during the golden age if you were
going to do ventriloquism. I guess you could compare him to Maher
Studios of today. He was a prolific builder and his figures were
sold by magic shops all over the country and also by Abbott’s Magic
catalogue.

James Tattersall Figure Returns to Ventriloquist Central
James Tattersall is not too well know
here in the United States but over in England back in the 1950′s he
was very well know for his outrageous full size figures and the
amazing act that he did. All of the figures Mr Tattersall used were
built by his own hands.

Final Thoughts |
|
I was thrilled and surprised to be deluged with soooo many of your
emails because the pre registration “Early Bird Special” had ended
at the end of January. A lot of you were asking if could still have
the “Early Bird Special” registration offer.
So after talking it over with my partner Steve Hurst we have decided
to extend the Pre Registration “Early Bird Special” through Feb 19,
2011 (that's NEXT Saturday).
We already have had quite a number that have signed up so make sure
you do it NOW and be assured that you reserve your spot for our
Ventriloquist Central Birthday Bash and save yourself some money.
Remember we are limited for space and you do not want to miss this
gathering.
