Comments from Dan |
| I was so
pleased this year at the ConVENTion because the Executive Director
of the ConVENTion, Mark Wade, invited Steve and me to dinner one
evening where in a relaxed setting we were able to chat at great
length about all aspects of the ConVENTion and ventriloquism in
general.
I felt very pleased because Mark told Steve and me that we are part
of the family because of all we have done for the ConVENTion. I told
Mark that for us it was a must to bring as much about the ConVENTion
to those that are unable to attend so they can see and hear what is
transpiring.
Ventriloquist Central is where everything that is vent can be found
and that means we must provide the information as it happens. Mark
thanked us more than once.
We will strive to keep doing just
that, provide as much information as we can that pertains to the Art
of Ventriloquism. One reason why we created this newsletter.
So sit back, relax, grab a beverage
and enjoy the newsletter.

John Schaibley’s Great Granddaughter, Jade Visits The Ventriloquist
Central Collection
The world is certainly a very small
place and as the Internet increases that becomes more and more
evident. The proof came to me when I received an email from Jade
Sylvan and she told me she was the great granddaughter of John
Schaibley and she wondered if she could come and see her great
grandfather’s ventriloquist figure and his journals.

“The ULTIMATE Guide To
Building Your Own Ventriloquist Figure, Volume 1”
“The ULTIMATE
Guide To Building Your Own Ventriloquist Figure, Volume 1” is a
step-by-step system from start to finish, so you can create your
very own ventriloquist figure. Now you can become a
ventriloquist figure builder. This guide will answers all your
questions, show you all the short-cuts, and give you a quick and
easy paint-by-the-numbers way to making your own ventriloquist
figure-- even if you don’t think you can do it.
"Hi Steve,
I purchased the “The ULTIMATE Guide To Building Your Own
Ventriloquist Figure, Volume 1”, from you last year and
have finished my dummy now.
It has not taken that long to do but I have only been
able to do little bits to it here and there so thats
where the months have gone.
I would love to take this opportunity to thank you for
putting this course together. Building a dummy has been
a long term ambition of mine right from child hood when
I used to make cardboard dummies.
Now all I need to finish the one I have made from your
course is to clothe him. As soon as I have clothes for
him I will send some photos for you to see.
Any way thanks again and look forward to hearing from
you in the future."

| We have had quite a
bit of activity on the
Ventriloquist Marketplace. In fact, one figure I listed
sold within a couple of hours of listing it, so be sure you keep
checking it out. Here are
just a few items listed on the Ventriloquist Marketplace:

Pictures of Figures Added to the Website |
RARE Louis Grannat Ventriloquist Figure
This example is rather unique in that
he has the leather mouth movement, rolling eye winker and a hand
shaker.
|
|
Albert Alfaro's Donation to Ventriloquist Central
This was such a nice gesture on Albert's part I just can't say
enough.

Ventriloquist Figures Ally Sloper & Mrs. Sloper
These great ventriloquist figure heads
were made by Alfred LeMare somewhere around 1890

|
Finis Robinson Talking Parrot
This creation by Finis is a premiere example because it is in near
mint condition. The history of this bird is great too. |
|
1930's Frank Marshall Ventriloquist Figure
This figure is an all original figure
except for the leather under the chin, which I replaced and painted
to match and also his wig which was missing when he arrived in the
collection.

Final Thoughts |
|
At the end of last month, Helen and I took a little vacation to Las
Vegas. I just love that town. There is everything here that you
could possibly want on vacation.... great weather (hot), food,
gambling (if that is your thing) shows…..and speaking of shows one
night we went to see Terry Fator.
This was one of the best shows I
have ever seen in Vegas since I started vacationing here 16 years
ago. It is a family geared show but has enough innuendo for the
adults to make them very happy to have attended. If you're in
Vegas and have a chance to see Terry, I highly recommend you do.
As I sit here thinking about the
ConVENTion in July, seeing Terry's show last month, makes me very
glad to see the Art of Ventriloquism alive and kicking. And
everyone one of you reading this is a part of it and should be very
proud of yourselves.
Plus, here at Ventriloquist
Central, we'll keep trying to do our part.
Till next time,
Dan |
