Stanley Burns was a customer of
Frank Marshall and this figure may be one of the first Dr Lichi
figures he carved for Stanley. This fellow was carved on Sept 10,
1953 and is signed inside the head from Frank Marshall to Stanley
Burns on both the back plate of the head and inside the head over
the eyes.
This guy has 3 ways to control the mouth.
First is the lever on the head stick, second is by a button on the
top of his head ( under the silk cap, and third was by a bulb and
long tube. This was so the performer ( Stanley Burns ) could be at a
distance of about 6 feet from the figure and still control his
mouth. This fellow also has side to side moving eyes.
A very rare and unusual figure. He stands
about 2 feet tall.
